Itinerary
The itinerary below is based on our recommended day to day itinerary, however as this is a private yacht tour it can customised to your specifications. Contact us for more information about customised itineraries...click here...

Day One

Private transport from the airport, your hotel or residence to Manoel Island Yacht Marina.

Welcome Aboard! Meet your skipper and settle into your cabins. As your skipper prepares for departure (at 0900hrs), grab a cool drink and make sure you are on deck not to miss the views of the magnificent fortified harbour as you sail out of port. The early part of the day is a great opportunity to get to know your skipper and discuss your itinerary.

We first head south passing Fort Rinella, the Mediterranean Film studios and the new SmartCity, after a short sail arriving at St. Thomas Bay (optional drop anchor opportunity). We continue, hugging the coastline around the fishing villages of Marsaxlokk and Birzebbugia until we arrive at the Blue Grotto. It is not possible to drop anchor around the Blue Grotto area due to the very deep sea, however if a member of your group can handle the dinghy, you do have the opportunity of visiting the Blue Grotto caves. We proceed along the Dingli Cliffs stretch of coast, these unique vertical or near-vertical rock faces rise from the sea to heights of up to 70-130m above sea level and in some places continuing down to depths of 80 metres below sea level.

We will arrive at Fomm ir-Rih, our lunch location early afternoon. Here we will drop anchor in the bay and you can swim, snorkel or relax onboard with a cool drink until lunch is prepared. More time for swimming in the afternoon or maybe take a siesta...the time is yours to do as you please. We will depart late afternoon and head further north to the island of Gozo, en route passing Gnejna, Ghajn Tuffieha and Anchor Bay.

Anchor Bay was the location where the 1980 Popeye film starring Robin Williams was filmed. Sweethaven village was constructed specially for the film and is now a family attraction. At this stage we are nearing the final stretch before we arrive at Mgarr Harbour. On arrival at the pretty port of Mgarr, normally between 1700hrs and 1800hrs you may choose to go ashore to do some sightseeing around Gozo Island. There is a mini market in the area, bars and a good choice of restaurants, mainly specialising in fish although other cuisine is also available for the non fish lovers.

Optional We can organise a sightseeing tour of the island (during the long summer days only) by Jeep or car which will be accompanied by local driver and if you like, a guide. This can also incorporate a stop for dinner at a local restaurant and will return you back to the yacht.

Day Two

After breakfast we set off (at 0900hrs) exploring the stunning islands of Gozo and Comino. We head south of Gozo passing the cliffs of Ta Cenc (similar in character to Dingli Cliffs) before arriving at the beautiful area of Dwejra. This anchorage has a number of interesting features including Fungus Rock which is a small islet and on it grows a rare plant which was believed to be used by the Knights of St. John to cure their wounded soldiers. The Azure Window is a spectacular table-like arched rock over the sea and the Inland Sea, this geological attraction was created millions of years ago when two limestone caves collapsed. This resulted in the creation of the 'Inland Sea' and a small cave like passage which opens onto the sea. Jacques Cousteau claims that the Inland Sea and nearby Blue Hole was among his top ten dives.

We continue around the north of the island, passing Ramla l-Hamra (Red Sands) and onto the smallest of the archipelagos, Comino Island. Here we will drop anchor in one of the bays (Santa Maria, Blue Lagoon or Crystal Lagoon), the sea is crystal clear and ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Lunch will also be prepared whilst we are here.

Optional Speedboat or jet ski trips provided by local operators around the numerous caves, inlets and creeks are available at a local charge. Your skipper will be happy to organise this for you.

The final part of our two day sailing adventure will take you along the North/North East coast passing the popular bay of Mellieha and St. Paul's Island which is said to be where St. Paul was shipwrecked in AD60. We continue, passing 'White Rocks', St. Julians and the Sliema coast before arriving back to the main port and the Manoel Island Yacht Marina at approx. 1700hrs.

Transport will be waiting for you at the port to take you to the airport, your residence or hotel for the remainder of your stay.
Bon Voyage!
