with Traditional Dghajsa Boat
On arrival in Valletta we will start our tour with a visit to the
Barraka Gardens, here you can admire the stunning scenery
overlooking the magnificent Grand Harbour. We will proceed along
Republic Street, admire the historical buildings including the
Palazzo's, Auberges, St. John's Co. Cathedral and the Grand Masters
Palace. We gradually make our way through the city and onto the
waterfront for the next part of this tour which includes a trip
across the harbour to Birgu on a traditional Dghajsa (type of
gondola), this takes about 10 minutes.
Birgu is the oldest city of the Grand Harbour.
In 1530 the Knights of St. John first settled in this area, and we will give you
an insight to an era dominated by the Knights of St. John. A short walking tour
will take us to the heart of city through narrow streets and quaint alleys which
are lamp lit. We can end our tour at one of the local restaurants located on the
waterfront or at one of the local wine tavernas, alternatively we
can return back to your hotel or residence.
