Pick-up for this tour is directly from your cruise ship
This exclusive tour includes a ride in a chauffeur driven classical
car, directly from your cruise ship. Enjoy the scenery from the port
along the winding coast road to St. Paul's Bay, ending at the Malta
Classical Car Collection. Included is a tour around the
museum, here you can admire a superb collection of pristine classical and vintage cars,
a wonderful range of memorabilia dating back to the 50's and an
excellent short movie in the state of the art theatre.... After our
classical car experience you will then be picked up
by regular transport for our next location which includes a visit to Meridiana Winery. Meridiana
produce wines from vines solely grown in Malta. On arrival you will have a
short tour of the main winery and our host will prepare some of the
wines for you to sample on the terrace, here you can also admire views of the
surrounding vineyards. Our final stop
is Mdina. Mdina is
built on a plateau in the centre of the island, the cities old
Baroque buildings, cathedral and magnificent bastion walls dominate
the rural skyline. Mdina, once the capital of Malta until the modern
city of Valletta was built in 1565 has had many names including Melita (Roman
occupation), Medina (Arabic occupation), Citta Notabile (Knights of
St. John) and Citta Vecchia (after Valletta was built). Today it is
also referred as the Silent City since it inspires tranquillity at
any time of the day or night.
The only way to really experience and enjoy this city is on foot,
explore the quaint alleys, narrow streets, ancient buildings and
magnificent far reaching views form the high bastion walls.
